Copaltite

A Great Sealing Combination

Compounding the Future

Copaltite is a high temperature sealing compound used for sealing threads, flanges and other fittings that are exposed to high temperatures and pressures. Copaltite is unexcelled.

Used successfully on;

  • Steam Joints at 2000psi – 1200°F
  • Flanges without gaskets up to 6500psi
  • Threaded Joints holding 10,000psi

Copaltite enables easy separation of joints after extended use at high temperatures and resists most chemicals.

It can be used on lines containing steam, ammonia, hydrocarbons, refrigerants, hydraulic fluids, propane, brine, acids and mild alkalis. This superior product also adheres to most metals, ceramics, rubber and most plastics.

Directions for Use

  • For best results, a very thin coat of Copaltite should be applied. Normally, Copaltite liquid gives sufficient coverage for a perfect seal, however, rough or scored surfaces may benefit from Copaltite Cement.
  • Surfaces must be clean and dry. Dirt, grease and moisture should be removed with solvent. Apply Copaltite by coating both surfaces lightly. The joint may then be closed and tightened.
  • When the joint is to hold high pressures at elevated temperatures, heat should be applied without pressure until the Copaltite has set up. Above 300°F set up requires about 15 minutes – _lower temperatures up to 4 hours.
  • Store Coplatite in a cool place away from sunlight and heat. Thin Copaltite liquid with pure alcohol if required. Turpentine or thinner should never be added.
